This week is extra special because my cousin's twin daughters from Ireland are here staying with us. We've been looking forward to their visit for months! We're having so much fun showing them around New York. They are big Harry Potter fans so on Sunday we took them to the city to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway. It was fantastic!  WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK...     Laura LOVES Ramen, so on our city adventure day we went to Ichiran. The line is usually around the corner but we got there before a little before they opened and didn't have to wait. Instead of tables, they have these individual dining booths. It was outstanding!  WHAT I'M READING....     I'm currently reading the Summer Pact by Emily Giffin. It's about four friends who meet in college, share a traumatic experience, and vow to always be there for each other. Fast forward ten years later they are all at a crossroads in their lives and come back together. It's...
July 19, 2024 We're wrapping up on second week of camp and summer is flying by....I'm trying to enjoy it instead of thinking about summer being over soon. On Wednesday my cousin Gerard and I took the train into the city to see the Irish band the Saw Doctors perform at Central Park Summer Stage. We had about a 25 block walk from Grand Central to Central Park and we popped into bars as we made our way uptown. We even made an impromptu visit to my sister at her office building. It was so much fun! The concert was great but the band had to stop after an hour because of lightning and thunder. Just as we were walking out of the park the skies opened and we got SOAKED! The train ride home in soggy wet clothes was NOT a favorite.  I have a long list of small house projects to accomplish this summer. This week I did a deep cleaning of Jack's room. One down, several more to go!  HeyNuts High Waisted Leggings:  I didn't do much shopping on Prime Day, but I did score these Hey Nuts...
Let's Look - Wednesday, July 10, 2024 This month I'm linking up with Erika and Shay to share our favorite podcasts and shows. I started listening to podcasts a couple of years ago. I love listening to them while I'm doing chores around the house or if I have a long drive. Podcasts make mundane tasks so much more fun! Here are some of my favorites... 1. Clutterbug Podcast with Cassie Aarssen : Cassie is very down to earth and keeps it real, while giving helpful tips about decluttering and organizing your home. I feel like I'm constantly struggling to get better at this. I listen to this podcast for inspiration before taking on a home project like cleaning out a closet or reorganizing a room.  2. True Crime Podcasts : I'm a self-proclaimed true crime junkie. My go-to podcasts are Dateline, 20/20, and Snapped. If you have any other recommendations I'd love to hear them! 3. Scamanda: This is a true crime podcast about Amanda Riley, a wife, mother and blogger from...
July 5, 2024 We're wrapping up a week in Hampton Bays. Spending time here with our family and friends is my very favorite.  1. Shell Flag : I was walking on the beach the other day and saw this flag made out of shells. I thought it was so cool and it made me smile. 2. Table Lamps : I bought these two matching lamps from Amazon and I really like them. The size is perfect and they match the coastal decor.  LAMP 3. Lounge Outfit : I just bought this Free People dupe from Amazon. It's cute and comfy. The pants are balloon-style and I feel a little bit like MC Hammer but I think I have to just get used to them.  Lounge Outfit 4. Beach Towels : It was time to refresh our beach towels and I bought 3 sets of these. They are cute and seem durable.  Towels 5. Funky Monkey Sandals : A friend at school had these and I thought they were cute. They are similar to the Birkenstocks but at a much lower price point. I got two pairs - light pink and gray. They are easy to slip on when...
