August 22, 2025 1. GIRL TIME: I spent a few days in the Hamptons with my mom this week. Brian and the kids stayed home since sports have already kicked off. Even though Mom lives with us now, we haven’t had much one-on-one time, so it was really nice to catch up. My friend Carrie was also out there solo, so we squeezed in lots of shopping! Such a nice little break before the craziness starts next week. 2. OOFOS flip flops: One of my neighbors has these and swears by them. I bought them in black and have to admit, they are VERY comfortable. I expect to be wearing these to lost of games in the fall.  Oofos Original Sandal 3. NEW RUGS: Carrie and I were both on the hunt for rugs and I ended up finding this beautiful blue one at HomeSense. The navy, red, and white rug is from Pottery Barn, and I scored it for an amazing deal on Facebook Marketplace! 3. Happy Friday! There is only one more Friday left until I go back to work, but I'm trying not to think about that. Instead, here's what I've been loving lately.... 1. BILLY JOEL: Brian and I both really enjoyed this documentary. I'm a Billy Joel fan, but even if you're not, you may want to check it out. I learned so much about his life and loved hearing the stories behind the songs.   2. FRESH MANI: I decided to go with a bright pink for the end of summer. I'll go back to a natural light pink for the first week of school. 3. FISHING: We caught our first tuna! The kids and I woke up at 3am to go fishing on our friend's boat off the coast of Montauk. I'm not sure I'm cut out for tuna fishing, but it was an amazing experience and I'm so glad we did it.  4. MORE HAPPY DAYS IN HAMPTON BAYS: My college bestie and her family were staying in Hamptons Bays this week so we had some quality time together. It always warms my heart when I see our girls toge...

Happy Friday! It's August 1st, and if you're a teacher like me, it's the Sunday of the summer. I'm determined not to think about it and enjoy these last few weeks. Here are some of my favorites this week... 1. NEW LIGHT FIXTURES: I've been making some small decor changes around the house and swapped out our old builder grade light fixtures for these rattan one from Amazon. A simple change, but I get overly excited about stuff like this.  2. PERSONAL ARTWORK & AMAZON FRAME: One of my former students just graduated high school (crazy!) and sent me a thoughtful card. She's an incredible artist; she hand-drew and painted the card herself. I framed it and will think of her when I see it. I was originally looking at a frame from Pottery Barn, but found a much cheaper version on Amazon.  Amazon Frame 3.
