What We've Been Up To.....

We've been enjoying lazy days and not having to set an alarm. There's been a lot of screen time and lounging around the house, sprinkled with some fun like making our own pizza, sibling sleepovers, and a trip to the library.
I've been able to do a couple of small organizing projects like a kitchen cabinet, the junk drawers, and laundry room. There is still SO MUCH to be done (like the garage - oy! and Brian's office) but I felt good to check a few items off the "To Do" list.

What We've Been Watching......

Brian and I just watched the Arnold Schwartenegger documentary on Netflix and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It's amazing how he came from this small town in Austria and became a famous body builder, actor and Governor of California.

What We've Been Reading....

I'm currently reading The Measure by Nikki Erlick. I'm not loving it, but I'm halfway through and it's gotten better. At this point I'm invested so I'm going to finish it. It's also a book club pick and I want to be able to participate in the conversation. Our next book is Lessons in Chemistry and I've heard good things about it. Also, the new Elin Hildebrand book came out June 13 and I can't wait to read it! I have so much more time to read during the summer and it's one of my favorite things to do.

What I've Been Wearing....

I took Laura and her friend to Ulta the other day and popped into Loft (which is in the same mall). I picked up this dress on the sale rack and wore it to a family party that same day! The color is bright for summer and I got lot of compliments on it. Loft is having 40% off now for July 4th.
AND the Lilly Pulitzer Splash Sale started this morning! I ordered some mugs, candles, wine totes and beach towels for the Hamptons, and these two dresses. I always say I don't need anything but the prices are too good to resist! I also love giving the candles, tumblers, and wine totes as teacher or hostess gifts.

What We've Been Eating....

I made this pulled chicken in the crockpot on Monday and everyone loved it. And it was super easy! I served it on

It has been a BUSY but fun couple of weeks around here. Today is my last day of work for awhile and I'm hoping to enjoy some down time as we head into August. I have lots of favorites to share this Friday start with... 1. ENGLISH FACTORY DRESSES: My friend has this dress and it's adorable on her. I had my eye on it for awhile and pulled the trigger when it went sale. I can't wait to wear it this weekend! Sunni Color Block Dress 2. BASEBALL LIFESTYLE : My son Jack is very into this Baseball Lifestyle 101 brand. It's all the rage with the baseball players. He typically wears hand me downs so I treated him to these shorts in blue and pink and the short sleeve hoodie. Baseball Shorts 3. CHERRIES: My obsession with cherries continues. I picked up this straw bag at a local boutique, a cute tank at Old Navy, and some fun items at Five Below.  Old Navy Cherry Tank ...
August 22, 2025 1. GIRL TIME: I spent a few days in the Hamptons with my mom this week. Brian and the kids stayed home since sports have already kicked off. Even though Mom lives with us now, we haven’t had much one-on-one time, so it was really nice to catch up. My friend Carrie was also out there solo, so we squeezed in lots of shopping! Such a nice little break before the craziness starts next week. 2. OOFOS flip flops: One of my neighbors has these and swears by them. I bought them in black and have to admit, they are VERY comfortable. I expect to be wearing these to lost of games in the fall.  Oofos Original Sandal 3. NEW RUGS: Carrie and I were both on the hunt for rugs and I ended up finding this beautiful blue one at HomeSense. The navy, red, and white rug is from Pottery Barn, and I scored it for an amazing deal on Facebook Marketplace! 3. TUCKERNUCK SAMPLE SALE: The semi-annual Tuckernuck sample sale is live and it's sooooo good. There were so many pieces I loved but I...
LOW LEVEL GOALS FOR 2025 Today I'm linking up with Erika to share our goals for 2024. I like that they are calling these "low level" goals because I don't want to set myself up for failure. I've made the mistake in previous years of setting lofty goals that weren't attainable. So here we go.... Read 25 Books in 2025: Last year I wanted to read 24 books in 2024 and I fell a little short. I think I read about 20. But this year I'm committed. I really enjoy reading so it shouldn't be too hard. The issue is finding the time. We have a vacation planned in April and I love to read on vacation. I also love hunkering down under a blanket with a good book during the colder months.  Take Online Classes: I'm a teacher and our district offers pay increases every time you earn an additional 30 credits up to 120 credits. This year my goal is to earn 30 credits (10 classes) before September 1st. A couple of years ago I earned my first 30 and I've slacking...
