LET'S LOOK: LITTLE THINGS WE DO EVERY SINGLE DAY

1. MAKE MY BED: I have to make my bed every single day. If I don't, I feel unsettled. Weird, I know. In college I never made my bed because I figured what's the point, I'm just going to get back in it. Well I've done a complete 180 and now I have to do it. Laura to makes her own bed, and Jack still needs a little help with his. When I leave for work in the morning, all the beds are made.

2. LAUNDRY: I am doing some form of laundry every morning and evening. Doing one load a day helps me stay on top of it. The down side is that there is never a break from it. It is part of my daily routine, like brushing my teeth. Usually I throw in a load in the morning put it in the dryer before I leave. Then fold it when I get home from school.

3. TO DO LIST: I make a to do list every day. There is the personal to do list, and the work to do list. It helps me stay on track and keeps me from dropping the ball (although that still happens from time to time). Whatever doesn't get crossed off the list, gets put on the list the following day.

4. SHOWER: I take a shower every weekday morning. It isn't necessarily about being clean but more about my hair. I have very curly hair that needs to be wet to reshape it after sleeping on it all night. So even if I took a shower before bed, or I'm going skiing or doing some activity where I'm just going to get dirty anyway, I shower. I also do it because it is part of my routine and wakes me up. Sometimes on the weekends I'll skip the morning shower and just shower at night, but Monday through Friday I have to shower before starting my day.

Things I try to do everyday:

5. WATCH A SHOW WITH MY FAMILY: I love when the four of us watch a show as a family. Lately we've been binging Friends. Laura and I are watching Gilmore Girls together. I also like to watch a show with Brian after the kids go to sleep. Although they've been going to bed later and later so this is hard.

6. READ: I love to read. It is my favorite thing to do on vacation, or any time I take a break from house chores and school work. I try to read a little bit each night.

7. MAKE A PHONE CALL: I call my mom almost every day, and I try to call at least one other family member or friend every day to check in. I usually do this when I'm driving home from school.

8. COFFEE: I almost forgot this one. I need caffeine! I stop at Dunkin Donuts on my way to school each morning and order the same thing. A large hot coffee with milk and a shot of espresso. On the weekends Brian makes a pot of coffee and I have about two cups.

That's it! I'm sure there is more I should be doing but I'm a work in progress!

Thanks for reading.

xoxo Heather

It has been a BUSY but fun couple of weeks around here. Today is my last day of work for awhile and I'm hoping to enjoy some down time as we head into August. I have lots of favorites to share this Friday start with... 1. ENGLISH FACTORY DRESSES: My friend has this dress and it's adorable on her. I had my eye on it for awhile and pulled the trigger when it went sale. I can't wait to wear it this weekend! Sunni Color Block Dress 2. BASEBALL LIFESTYLE : My son Jack is very into this Baseball Lifestyle 101 brand. It's all the rage with the baseball players. He typically wears hand me downs so I treated him to these shorts in blue and pink and the short sleeve hoodie. Baseball Shorts 3. CHERRIES: My obsession with cherries continues. I picked up this straw bag at a local boutique, a cute tank at Old Navy, and some fun items at Five Below.  Old Navy Cherry Tank ...
August 22, 2025 1. GIRL TIME: I spent a few days in the Hamptons with my mom this week. Brian and the kids stayed home since sports have already kicked off. Even though Mom lives with us now, we haven’t had much one-on-one time, so it was really nice to catch up. My friend Carrie was also out there solo, so we squeezed in lots of shopping! Such a nice little break before the craziness starts next week. 2. OOFOS flip flops: One of my neighbors has these and swears by them. I bought them in black and have to admit, they are VERY comfortable. I expect to be wearing these to lost of games in the fall.  Oofos Original Sandal 3. NEW RUGS: Carrie and I were both on the hunt for rugs and I ended up finding this beautiful blue one at HomeSense. The navy, red, and white rug is from Pottery Barn, and I scored it for an amazing deal on Facebook Marketplace! 3. TUCKERNUCK SAMPLE SALE: The semi-annual Tuckernuck sample sale is live and it's sooooo good. There were so many pieces I loved but I...
LOW LEVEL GOALS FOR 2025 Today I'm linking up with Erika to share our goals for 2024. I like that they are calling these "low level" goals because I don't want to set myself up for failure. I've made the mistake in previous years of setting lofty goals that weren't attainable. So here we go.... Read 25 Books in 2025: Last year I wanted to read 24 books in 2024 and I fell a little short. I think I read about 20. But this year I'm committed. I really enjoy reading so it shouldn't be too hard. The issue is finding the time. We have a vacation planned in April and I love to read on vacation. I also love hunkering down under a blanket with a good book during the colder months.  Take Online Classes: I'm a teacher and our district offers pay increases every time you earn an additional 30 credits up to 120 credits. This year my goal is to earn 30 credits (10 classes) before September 1st. A couple of years ago I earned my first 30 and I've slacking...
