WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK

With all the practices, it's been hard to have a regular dinner routine so been picking something up or having leftovers, cold cuts, pasta, etc. I'm hoping to get back on track with meal planning when school starts. This week Brian made tuna and rice using tuna we had in the freezer. Our friends in the Hamptons caught a tuna and generously shared it with us. There was so much that we ate some of it fresh and then froze some tuna steaks. Brian and Jack LOVED it!

WHAT I'M WATCHING/READING

We just started watching Bad Monkey with Vince Vaughan. He plays a detective who is on leave and not supposed to be doing police work, but he still manages to get mixed up in a murder investigation. It's funny and quirky.

We watched The Devil Wears Prada with the kids. Laura didn't want to watch it at first, but ended up really liking it!

I just finished Summers at The Saint by Mark Kay Andrews and loved it! It takes place at a resort and has family drama, romance, even murder!

Now I'm reading The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware. I'm only a few pages in so I'm not sure yet if I like it.

WHAT I'M LOVING

Jack went to golf camp this summer and it was his first time trying golf (aside from mini golf). When the camp ended, Brian took him for their first outing together. My dad was an avid golfer so seeing my boys hit the links together makes me smile.
Yesterday we made a last minute plan to visit my friend Jenna, who lives about a half hour away. She has a beautiful pool and the kids had a blast. I'm going to miss these impromptu summer hangs!

WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT

Last week I had a girls trip to Charleston to celebrate our friend's birthday. We had a blast! I was looking forward to the trip for so long that now I'm bummed it's over.

WHAT I'M DOING THIS WEEKEND

One last summer weekend in Hampton Bays, where I'll try not to think about all the work and stress that await for me next week!

Hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend!

BASEBALL LIFESTYLE : My son Jack is very into this Baseball Lifestyle 101 brand. It's all the rage with the baseball players. He typically wears hand me downs so I treated him to these shorts in blue and pink and the short sleeve hoodie. Baseball Shorts 3. CHERRIES: My obsession with cherries continues. I picked up this straw bag at a local boutique, a cute tank at Old Navy, and some fun items at Five Below.  Old Navy Cherry Tank ...
August 22, 2025 1. GIRL TIME: I spent a few days in the Hamptons with my mom this week. Brian and the kids stayed home since sports have already kicked off. Even though Mom lives with us now, we haven’t had much one-on-one time, so it was really nice to catch up. My friend Carrie was also out there solo, so we squeezed in lots of shopping! Such a nice little break before the craziness starts next week. 2. OOFOS flip flops: One of my neighbors has these and swears by them. I bought them in black and have to admit, they are VERY comfortable. I expect to be wearing these to lost of games in the fall.  Oofos Original Sandal 3. NEW RUGS: Carrie and I were both on the hunt for rugs and I ended up finding this beautiful blue one at HomeSense. The navy, red, and white rug is from Pottery Barn, and I scored it for an amazing deal on Facebook Marketplace! 3. TUCKERNUCK SAMPLE SALE: The semi-annual Tuckernuck sample sale is live and it's sooooo good. There were so many pieces I loved but I...
October 24, 2025 1. GIRL TIME: My college bestie and I took our daughters to the Shawn Mendez concert at Forest Hill Stadium. It was a beautiful night for an outdoor concert and we had a blast! I love that we have daughters the same age and they get along so well.  2. LULUS: Lulus is my go-to spot for dresses. They always have such a great selection at reasonable prices. I usually order a few different styles and sizes to try on, then just keep my favorites. I have two events coming up in November and December, and these two dresses are definite keepers! Loira Midi Dress Celebration Time Navy Dress 3. LOFT: I had some time to kill before the dentist so I popped into Loft. I left with this denim dress...the material is a nice heavier weight and I think it will be super cute with boots. I also got 3 sweaters. Everything is on sale and they offer and additional teacher discount.  Denim Dress Fringe Sweater Floral Sweater Spacedye Sweater 4. SCHOOL PICTURES : We just got our sc...
