What We're Eating This Week

Laura was under the weather with a cold so I made this lemon chicken orzo soup. I've made it several times and it's always a hit in our house. You can find the recipe here.

What I'm Excited About

Last Thursday the New Kids on the Block announced a residency in Las Vegas. The pre-sale started yesterday and I snagged 2 tickets in the 4th row for the June 28th show. Brian and I are headed to Vegas! I've been there several times but not in many years. I'm looking forward not only to the concert but to our weekend away.

Speaking of concerts, Laura and I are heading to this "We Can Survive" concert on Saturday with my college bestie and her daughter. This will be Laura's first real concert and I'm excited to experience it with her.

What I'm Watching/Reading

I'm currently reading The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware. I'm about a third of the way into it, and it's just okay so far. I'm hoping to carve out some reading time this weekend and the book will start to pick up.

I'm a true crime junkie, and I'm watching Into the Fire on Netflix. It's about a woman who gave her daughter for adoption only to find out she went missing at 14.

What I'm Wearing

First, I'm clearly terrible at taking selfies, but wanted to show you this cute top from Amazon. It's a lightweight sweater and perfect for the fall weather.

What We've Been Up To

On Saturday night we went for a sunset cruise on our neighbor's boat. It was a gorgeous night and we had a great time.

Hockey is back in full swing. Jack had two games this past weekend. Hockey is my favorite sport to watch so I'm loving it. I don't love the early mornings, but it's worth it.

August 22, 2025 1. GIRL TIME: I spent a few days in the Hamptons with my mom this week. Brian and the kids stayed home since sports have already kicked off. Even though Mom lives with us now, we haven’t had much one-on-one time, so it was really nice to catch up. My friend Carrie was also out there solo, so we squeezed in lots of shopping! Such a nice little break before the craziness starts next week. 2. OOFOS flip flops: One of my neighbors has these and swears by them. I bought them in black and have to admit, they are VERY comfortable. I expect to be wearing these to lost of games in the fall. Oofos Original Sandal 3. NEW RUGS: Carrie and I were both on the hunt for rugs and I ended up finding this beautiful blue one at HomeSense. October 24, 2025 1. GIRL TIME: My college bestie and I took our daughters to the Shawn Mendez concert at Forest Hill Stadium. It was a beautiful night for an outdoor concert and we had a blast! I love that we have daughters the same age and they get along so well. 2. LULUS: Lulus is my go-to spot for dresses. They always have such a great selection at reasonable prices. I usually order a few different styles and sizes to try on, then just keep my favorites. I have two events coming up in November and December, and these two dresses are definite keepers!
