This Friday is a favorite because I'm off today and Monday and Tuesday. We didn't use all of our snow days so we have the extra long weekend. Laura and I are heading to Philadelphia today for a soccer tournament and then I'm hoping to get to the Hamptons for Monday/Tuesday. We've been doing some updates around the house - new furniture, fresh paint, new fixtures, etc. so I have some of those here to share.

1. Refurbished Cabinet: I inherited this cabinet and I've had it for many years. It fit the space well and I like displaying our wedding china. But it is out dated and the dark wood didn't fit my aesthetic anymore. I found a local woman on facebook who specializes in refurbishing furniture. Some blue paint and gold hardware and it looks like a brand new piece! I love how it came out!

2. Sam Edelam Rowan Sandals: For those who follow Motherchic, I saw these on her last year and admired them. Now they are on sale at Nordstrom so I decided to go for it.

3. Trader Joes: My co-worker recommended this combo to me and it's such an easy weeknight meal. It is the Trader Joes chicken apple sausage combined with their Fiochetti (in the frozen section). First you slice and brown the sausage and then cook the Fiochetti in the same pan according to the directions. It only took about 10 minutes and the kids loved it. Next time I would make two bags of the Fiochetti to even out the pasta/sausage ratio. My co-worker adds in spinach but I didn't think the kids would go for it if I did that.

3.  Amazon Chandelier: We added this light fixture at the top of the stairs. I think it's so pretty and looks expensive (it's not!).

4. Kendra Scott Jewelry: I'm loving the red/white/blue collection at Kendra Scott. They're so cute for Memorial Day and July 4th and summer in general. They're having a 25% off sale. I ordered a couple of necklaces and I'm hoping Laura doesn't steal them!

4. May School Events: Yesterday Laura had a pep rally and the 7th graders had to wear pink. She and her friends all wore hot pink "bob" wigs. I'm so happy she has a friend group with really nice girls. Then last night we had the National Junior Honor Society ceremony. Below is our annual pic with her bestie Juliana - this year and last year.

5. Dudley Stephen Memorial Day Sale: Dudley Stephens is having a 25% sale. They have so many cute pullovers but I tried to retrain myself. I did snag a pair of shorts which I do need. The shorts come in navy and red and I loved both, but went with the red for our school color.

Thanks for reading. Enjoy the long weekend!

It has been a BUSY but fun couple of weeks around here. Today is my last day of work for awhile and I'm hoping to enjoy some down time as we head into August. I have lots of favorites to share this Friday start with... 1. ENGLISH FACTORY DRESSES: My friend has this dress and it's adorable on her. I had my eye on it for awhile and pulled the trigger when it went sale. I can't wait to wear it this weekend! Sunni Color Block Dress 2. BASEBALL LIFESTYLE : My son Jack is very into this Baseball Lifestyle 101 brand. It's all the rage with the baseball players. He typically wears hand me downs so I treated him to these shorts in blue and pink and the short sleeve hoodie. Baseball Shorts 3. CHERRIES: My obsession with cherries continues. I picked up this straw bag at a local boutique, a cute tank at Old Navy, and some fun items at Five Below.  Old Navy Cherry Tank ...
August 22, 2025 1. GIRL TIME: I spent a few days in the Hamptons with my mom this week. Brian and the kids stayed home since sports have already kicked off. Even though Mom lives with us now, we haven’t had much one-on-one time, so it was really nice to catch up. My friend Carrie was also out there solo, so we squeezed in lots of shopping! Such a nice little break before the craziness starts next week. 2. OOFOS flip flops: One of my neighbors has these and swears by them. I bought them in black and have to admit, they are VERY comfortable. I expect to be wearing these to lost of games in the fall.  Oofos Original Sandal 3. NEW RUGS: Carrie and I were both on the hunt for rugs and I ended up finding this beautiful blue one at HomeSense. The navy, red, and white rug is from Pottery Barn, and I scored it for an amazing deal on Facebook Marketplace! 3. TUCKERNUCK SAMPLE SALE: The semi-annual Tuckernuck sample sale is live and it's sooooo good. There were so many pieces I loved but I...
LOW LEVEL GOALS FOR 2025 Today I'm linking up with Erika to share our goals for 2024. I like that they are calling these "low level" goals because I don't want to set myself up for failure. I've made the mistake in previous years of setting lofty goals that weren't attainable. So here we go.... Read 25 Books in 2025: Last year I wanted to read 24 books in 2024 and I fell a little short. I think I read about 20. But this year I'm committed. I really enjoy reading so it shouldn't be too hard. The issue is finding the time. We have a vacation planned in April and I love to read on vacation. I also love hunkering down under a blanket with a good book during the colder months.  Take Online Classes: I'm a teacher and our district offers pay increases every time you earn an additional 30 credits up to 120 credits. This year my goal is to earn 30 credits (10 classes) before September 1st. A couple of years ago I earned my first 30 and I've slacking...
