1. FIELD DAY: As a teacher, it's hard for me to leave my class and attend school events for Laura and Jack. I've never volunteered for Field Day and I decided that since this is Jack's last one, I had to do it. It was a blast! Bonus, my niece is in the same class with the Jack. These two crushed the three-legged race.

2. FLAG DAY:  A special event in second grade is our Flag Day performance. All the children (and teachers!) get dressed up in red/white/blue and sing patriotic songs. I'm wearing a dress from last year's Tuckernuck sale and my gingham sandals are from Target. My friend lent me this Flag sweater from Maeve (at Anthropologie). It's adorable for July 4th.

2.  New lighting: We have two small fans in our living room in Hampton Bays that I've been thinking about replacing for years, but never found the right fixture. My friend showed me this one she has in her office, and I thought it was perfect - very "beachy." They're getting installed this week and I can't wait to see them in person.

3.  Deck: Now that the rain seems to finally be subsiding, we're enjoying more dinners and on the deck and I love reading out there. I've had the table forever but the chairs are new (I bought them in our local ACME supermarket) and I got a new rug from Wayfair.

4. Peonies: Our peonies are in full bloom and I love putting little bouquets around the house. If you don't have any peony plants, Trader Joes has fabulous ones.

5. SUMMER is almost here. Just 11 more days, but who's counting?! Our class made our last bulletin board of the school year. I'm excited for summer but it's also bittersweet because we have the best second-grade crew and I'm really going to miss them.

6. NETFLIX: I have so many shows to watch and so little time. This week Brian and I binged Dept. Q. I thought it was excellent. It's complex and can be hard to follow at times so you really need to pay attention. And of course, I can't get enough of Ginny and Georgia. I've watched 6/10 episodes of the new season and I'm hoping to finish this weekend.

Have a great weekend!

August 22, 2025 1. GIRL TIME: I spent a few days in the Hamptons with my mom this week. Brian and the kids stayed home since sports have already kicked off. Even though Mom lives with us now, we haven’t had much one-on-one time, so it was really nice to catch up. My friend Carrie was also out there solo, so we squeezed in lots of shopping! Such a nice little break before the craziness starts next week. 2. OOFOS flip flops: One of my neighbors has these and swears by them. I bought them in black and have to admit, they are VERY comfortable. I expect to be wearing these to lost of games in the fall.  Oofos Original Sandal 3. NEW RUGS: Carrie and I were both on the hunt for rugs and I ended up finding this beautiful blue one at HomeSense. The navy, red, and white rug is from Pottery Barn, and I scored it for an amazing deal on Facebook Marketplace! 3. October 24, 2025 1. GIRL TIME: My college bestie and I took our daughters to the Shawn Mendez concert at Forest Hill Stadium. It was a beautiful night for an outdoor concert and we had a blast! I love that we have daughters the same age and they get along so well.  2. LULUS: Lulus is my go-to spot for dresses. They always have such a great selection at reasonable prices. I usually order a few different styles and sizes to try on, then just keep my favorites. I have two events coming up in November and December, and these two dresses are definite keepers! Loira Midi Dress Celebration Time Navy Dress 3. LOFT: I had some time to kill before the dentist so I popped into Loft.
