1. FIELD DAY: As a teacher, it's hard for me to leave my class and attend school events for Laura and Jack. I've never volunteered for Field Day and I decided that since this is Jack's last one, I had to do it. It was a blast! Bonus, my niece is in the same class with the Jack. These two crushed the three-legged race.

2. FLAG DAY:  A special event in second grade is our Flag Day performance. All the children (and teachers!) get dressed up in red/white/blue and sing patriotic songs. I'm wearing a dress from last year's Tuckernuck sale and my gingham sandals are from Target. My friend lent me this Flag sweater from Maeve (at Anthropologie). It's adorable for July 4th.

2.  New lighting: We have two small fans in our living room in Hampton Bays that I've been thinking about replacing for years, but never found the right fixture. My friend showed me this one she has in her office, and I thought it was perfect - very "beachy." They're getting installed this week and I can't wait to see them in person.

3.  Deck: Now that the rain seems to finally be subsiding, we're enjoying more dinners and on the deck and I love reading out there. I've had the table forever but the chairs are new (I bought them in our local ACME supermarket) and I got a new rug from Wayfair.

4. Peonies: Our peonies are in full bloom and I love putting little bouquets around the house. If you don't have any peony plants, Trader Joes has fabulous ones.

5. SUMMER is almost here. Just 11 more days, but who's counting?! Our class made our last bulletin board of the school year. I'm excited for summer but it's also bittersweet because we have the best second-grade crew and I'm really going to miss them.

6. NETFLIX: I have so many shows to watch and so little time. This week Brian and I binged Dept. Q. I thought it was excellent. It's complex and can be hard to follow at times so you really need to pay attention. And of course, I can't get enough of Ginny and Georgia. I've watched 6/10 episodes of the new season and I'm hoping to finish this weekend.

Have a great weekend!

It has been a BUSY but fun couple of weeks around here. Today is my last day of work for awhile and I'm hoping to enjoy some down time as we head into August. I have lots of favorites to share this Friday start with... 1. ENGLISH FACTORY DRESSES: My friend has this dress and it's adorable on her. I had my eye on it for awhile and pulled the trigger when it went sale. I can't wait to wear it this weekend! Sunni Color Block Dress 2. BASEBALL LIFESTYLE : My son Jack is very into this Baseball Lifestyle 101 brand. It's all the rage with the baseball players. He typically wears hand me downs so I treated him to these shorts in blue and pink and the short sleeve hoodie. Baseball Shorts 3. CHERRIES: My obsession with cherries continues. I picked up this straw bag at a local boutique, a cute tank at Old Navy, and some fun items at Five Below.  Old Navy Cherry Tank ...
August 22, 2025 1. GIRL TIME: I spent a few days in the Hamptons with my mom this week. Brian and the kids stayed home since sports have already kicked off. Even though Mom lives with us now, we haven’t had much one-on-one time, so it was really nice to catch up. My friend Carrie was also out there solo, so we squeezed in lots of shopping! Such a nice little break before the craziness starts next week. 2. OOFOS flip flops: One of my neighbors has these and swears by them. I bought them in black and have to admit, they are VERY comfortable. I expect to be wearing these to lost of games in the fall.  Oofos Original Sandal 3. NEW RUGS: Carrie and I were both on the hunt for rugs and I ended up finding this beautiful blue one at HomeSense. The navy, red, and white rug is from Pottery Barn, and I scored it for an amazing deal on Facebook Marketplace! 3. TUCKERNUCK SAMPLE SALE: The semi-annual Tuckernuck sample sale is live and it's sooooo good. There were so many pieces I loved but I...
LOW LEVEL GOALS FOR 2025 Today I'm linking up with Erika to share our goals for 2024. I like that they are calling these "low level" goals because I don't want to set myself up for failure. I've made the mistake in previous years of setting lofty goals that weren't attainable. So here we go.... Read 25 Books in 2025: Last year I wanted to read 24 books in 2024 and I fell a little short. I think I read about 20. But this year I'm committed. I really enjoy reading so it shouldn't be too hard. The issue is finding the time. We have a vacation planned in April and I love to read on vacation. I also love hunkering down under a blanket with a good book during the colder months.  Take Online Classes: I'm a teacher and our district offers pay increases every time you earn an additional 30 credits up to 120 credits. This year my goal is to earn 30 credits (10 classes) before September 1st. A couple of years ago I earned my first 30 and I've slacking...
