January 31, 2025 1. SOUP: Last week it was chicken noodle soup, this week I made lasagna soup. It was so good! Everyone in the house ate it, although Brian did say that it reminded him a little bit of Chef Boyardee!  2. Valentine Nails : On Tuesday evening I got a manicure with a little Valentine pop. These little white hearts make me happy. 3. Mid-Week Skiing: We had off on Wednesday in honor of Lunar New Year. I was tempted to stay home and catch up on things around the house, but the opportunity to get in some mid-week skiing was too good to pass up. The laundry will always be there! My friend Carrie and I took our boys to Hunter Mountain (about 2 hours away) for the day. We had a blast! 4. Class Valentine Gifts: I saw these heart shaped water colors on Instagram and ordered them as class Valentine gifts. Last year I gave my students gummy pizzas with a tag saying "You Have a Pizza My Heart." I linked both below for any teacher friends.  Watercolor Paint Valentines Pizz...
Happy Friday! Here's what I'm loving this week... 1. LOFT Heart Sweater : I saw this sweater on instagram and liked it; so when I was in the mall this week I stopped by LOFT to see if they had it and luckily they did. I'm wearing it to school today. It's perfect for Valentine's Day and it's on sale! LOFT Heart Sweater 2. The TUCKERNUCK Sample Sale started this week. Today is the last day. I always pick up a few pieces at great prices. However, it is risky because it everything is final sale. Here's what I got: Navy Lacy Mallie Dress I thought this would be perfect for July 4th. Black Leather Ariella Dress We have a trip planned to Vegas and I'm packing this leather dress. French Sole Studded Heel These shoes look more expensive than they are. Pressed Powder Toile Dress I loved the toile print on this dress and the soft pink color. 3. SOUP: It's freezing in New York right now. The temperature on my car said -8 degrees! It's perfect soup weather....
LOW LEVEL GOALS FOR 2025 Today I'm linking up with Erika to share our goals for 2024. I like that they are calling these "low level" goals because I don't want to set myself up for failure. I've made the mistake in previous years of setting lofty goals that weren't attainable. So here we go.... Read 25 Books in 2025: Last year I wanted to read 24 books in 2024 and I fell a little short. I think I read about 20. But this year I'm committed. I really enjoy reading so it shouldn't be too hard. The issue is finding the time. We have a vacation planned in April and I love to read on vacation. I also love hunkering down under a blanket with a good book during the colder months.  Take Online Classes: I'm a teacher and our district offers pay increases every time you earn an additional 30 credits up to 120 credits. This year my goal is to earn 30 credits (10 classes) before September 1st. A couple of years ago I earned my first 30 and I've slacking...
It's the first Friday Favorites of 2025! Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a nice holiday and your 2025 is off to a great start. We had a wonderful Christmas with our families and then went to Vermont for a few days. Which brings me to my first favorite.... 1. Ski Trips with Friends: We've been doing ski trips with the same friend group for about 5 years now. Over the break went to Killington, VT and next weekend we're all off to Okemo for our annual MLK trip. These trips are always fun but they weren't always easy, especially when the kids were younger - schlepping equipment, dropping them at ski school, listening to the complaining, etc. Now that they are older it's all paying off and those hard days were worth it! It's the best feeling in the world to be on top of the mountain with the kids and watch them skiing down with their friends. Now they have to wait for me!  2. Lily Pulitzer Sunshine Sale: This week Lily had their semi-annual Sunshine Sale. I...
